Project School Visit:
Clifton Public School (Mississauga)

Visit sponsored by:  TD Friends of the Environment Foundation

In March 2002 we visited Mississauga's Clifton Public School with our female peregrine falcon, "Penny".   Below is a letter from the school:

I would like to thank you and the Canadian Peregrine Foundation for the presentation on the Peregrine Falcon at Clifton Public School.

The grade 4 and 5 classes enjoyed the presentation and felt it was a great learning experience.  The information was presented in a very interesting format, and they were thrilled to actually be able to see one of these great birds.

The presentation left the students and the staff with an appreciation for the struggle this bird has gone through and the efforts of the Foundation to get this bird off of the endangered species list.  The students were also left with a feeling that we need to be extremely careful with our environment and what we put into it, as it can have detrimental effects on habitats and ecosystems.

Sincerely,

Brian Raymond
Grade 4 Teacher
