In February 2002, we visited London's C.C. Carrothers Public School with our male peregrine falcon "Oscar". Below are some letters the students wrote to our sponsors after the visit, and a drawing from another student:
Dear Friends of the Environment,
I wanted to thank all the people who helped to sponsor the peregrine falcons. I enjoyed the presentation at our school. Also it was cool to get to see Oscar. I think that we are lucky to be one of the schools in London to get to have the presentation at our school. The things that I liked about the presentation are that we got to see a peregrine falcon and I learned a lot of things like they have amazing eyesight. Thanks! Sincerely, Samantha |
Dear TD Canada Trust,
I liked the presentation that the Canadian Peregrine Foundation did for us yesterday. I think the peregrine falcon is cool and I really don't want them to extinct. I hope that soon the population would be high again. yesterday when I saw Oscar I thought peregrines were really cool. I would be happy to help anytime. I hope we can see baby peregrine falcons too. Sincerely, Jerome |
Dear Sponsor,
Thank you so much for the presentation the Canadian Peregrine Foundation gave us because I really liked it. Also thank you for saving all of those beautiful peregrine falcons. I really liked the facts that you told us like how the peregrine falcons used to be represented as a god in Ancient Egyptian times. We were studying Ancient Egypt just in January. Oscar is a very beautiful bird. I am sure he will make a very good father. he is very calm and very well behaved. Again, THANK YOU! Sincerely, Alycia |
