In November 2000, we visited Etobicoke's Briarcrest Junior School with our two-year-old male peregrine falcon "Scotty". Below are some comments from the school:
On Tuesday, November 21, the Grade 3, 4, & 5 children were treated to a fascinating presentation from the Canadian Peregrine Foundation. Students learned many interesting facts about this endangered species' plight. The highlight was meeting Scotty, a 2-year-old endangered falcon. Etobicoke is home to one of the nesting sites of the peregrine falcons and this winter, they will be nesting again at the building on the northeast corner of Bloor St W & Islington. Interested observers are welcome to visit.
This presentation was made possible by a grant from Canada Trust, Friends of the Environment. Thank you Canada Trust, for your generous support of such wonderful educational experience for our learners!
