In February 2001, we visited Agnes G. Hodge Public School in Brantford with our nine-year-old female peregrine falcon "Ariel". Below are some comments from the school:
Please find below an excerpt from our March newsletter regarding the Peregrine presentation:
"On Friday, February 16, the Junior division students experienced a unique natural link to our life system strands in Science. Mr. David Pfeffer, of the Canadian Peregrine Foundation, brought in a live female Peregrine Falcon and showed us a video explaining the habits of this endangered species. We learned and watched how this bird eats (raw quail!), its flying and hunting habits, and where it lives. It was great to see such a beautiful bird alive knowing that with continued protection its numbers will grow."
As you can see, the students and teachers enjoyed the presentation and found it to be educational. In fact, the Grade 5-6 teacher will be doing a unit on the Peregrine Falcons for part of his Science strands during the Third term.
Yours truly,
Jim
