On October 24, 2003 we visited Westacres Public School with one of our peregrine falcons. Below is a letter we received from the school.
We were indeed fortunate to have a visit from Maya Basdeo and Ariel at Westacres on Friday, October 24. All of our students in grades 4, 5, and 6 were able to participate in the programme. It was excellent. The children learned valuable lessons about conservation and the impact humans can have on other living things. The teachers really appreciated the useful handout and the way the programme addressed areas of their curricula in science and social studies. As a small school, we could never afford to have such interesting and informative speakers without the generous funding of groups such as the Lloyd Carr-Harris Foundation. A sincere thank you for funding this programme and also to Maya for delivering such an informative and interesting talk. Staff, students and the parents who attended all found the programme excellent. Sincerely, Linda Kenny
