On October the 7th, 2004, we visited Oakville's Pilgrim Wood Public School. Below is a letter from the school and pictures from some of the students.

The grade 4 and 6 students of Pilgrim Wood Public School recently enjoyed an intriguing presentation by Michael Fazackerley of the Canadian Peregrine Foundation. They were treated to a well-organized and informative delivery of information about the environmental issues affecting the Peregrine Falcon, a documentary video entitled "Life on the Ledge", colourful peregrine falcon postcards, temporary tatoos and copies of the "Student's Guide to Ontario's Endangered Wildlife". Our students were encouraged to ask questions and take part in a meaningful discussion. Of course, the highlight of the presentation was the visit of a live bird of prey - a peregrine falcon!

We appreciate the importance of tying in this presentation with our Science curriculum - "Life Systems: Habitats and Communities" in grade 4 and "Life Systems: Diversity of Living Things" in grade 6. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Lloyd-Carr Harris Foundation as well as the TD Canada Trust - Friends of the Environment, for providing the funding for us to enjoy the benefits of this program.

Once again, we thank you for the opportunity to educate our students about endangered and threatened birds of prey in Canada.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Bonnie Mifsud
