Our school was fortunate to have a visit from Tracy and her falcon, Oscar, from the Canadian Peregrine Foundation on May 27th, 2005. Tracy presented a very informative workshop that included many topics related to our grade 4 Science unit on Habitats and Communities. She emphasized the role of people and their effect on the habitats of wild animals and how people can prevent more species from becoming endangered. Her discussion was also related to our novel study in Language Arts on Owls in the Family by Farley Mowat and to our Social Studies unit on medieval times (falconry). Tracy interacted well with the students and answered all their questions with enthusiasm and knowledge.
Thank you very much for sponsoring this educational program and providing Sir John Moore School with the opportunity to be part of it. It was a very worthwhile workshop!! I hope the program will continue as it greatly benefits our students and helps to make the curriculum topics real to them. Thank you!
We would welcome you back!
Sincerely,
Miss S. O'Brien
