Project School Visit:
Clearview Meadows Elementary School
On April the 8th, 2005, we visited Stayner's Clearview Meadows Elementary School. Below is a letter from the school.
Our school was fortunate to have Mark Nash visit our Jr. Division students with a peregrine falcon, Falon.
Mark explained about the Peregrine Falcon, their habitat and why they are considered an endangered species. The presentation was informative and Mark's manner with the students was enthusiastic yet calming for the group to remain focused. He shared a genuine care to support the peregrines. The students sat and listened intently throughout the presentation.
As a small school we look for presentations that are valuable learning experiences and that the school is able to afford in order to support all of our students. This presentation was a powerful and positive learning experience, promoted the curriculum, supported teachers, and did not cost the school or the students any money!
During the question time, questions could have gone on significantly longer then time permitted! After the presentations our Intermediate staff wandered in to our library and wanted to talk to Mark and meet Falon.
Thank you to those who sponsor this opportunity for the Canadian Peregrine Foundation to visit schools. It is my understanding that the TD Canada Trust- Friends of the Environment make these school visits possible. Thank You! It was a valuable learning experience for the students and it is my hope that, with your continued support, other students will benefit from the opportunity.
We would welcome you back!
Sincerely,
Lorna Howlett-Lowe Principal
