St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School
On April the 15th, 2004, we visited Guelph's St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School. Below is a letter from the school and pictures from some of the students.

Many thanks to you for arranging for Ms. Maya Basdeo to visit our school.
Her presentation was exciting, enjoyable and most informative, as we learned much about the
peregrine falcon. Our grade four, five and six classes listened intently to the topics covered
which included the falcon's habitat, what they eat, their history and why they are an endangered
species. Much of what they heard reflects there study in their science curriculum and ties in
well this month as we both recognize and appreciate our planet and those who inhabit It. The
highlight, of course, was actually seeing a real falcon. They are, indeed, a beautiful bird. In
addition, we appreciate keeping the video "Life on the Edge", which I have made available to any
class interested in learning more.
Finally and most importantly, on behalf of the students and staff of St. Francis of Assisi
(Falcons), I wish to thank the TD Canada Trust Fund - Friends of the Environment for funding
this wonderful program. We would not have learned or experienced these presentations if it
were not for their generous financial support.
