Project School Visit:
St. Alexander School

On June the 1st, 2004, we visited Fonthill's St. Alexander School. Below is a picture and a letter from the school.

We were pleased to have the Canadian Peregrine Foundation present to the Junior Division students in our school. The students thoroughly enjoyed the presentation.

I appreciated the fact that the Science and Social Studies curriculums were tied into the presentation. The Grade Four students learned more about habitats, the food chain, the effect of DDT on humans and animals, and the use of birds of prey during Medieval Times. The Grade Six students further developed their understanding of ecosystems, characteristics of flight, endangered species, and Egyptian history.

I wish to thank the presenter, Mia, for the informative sessions, the video, and the Endangered Species unit on the peregrine falcon. I also wish to thank the Toronto Dominion Bank for their support of this program.

Sincerely,

Marie Balanowski
