Project School Visit:
North Norwich Public School
On May the 12th, 2004, we visited Burgessville's North Norwich Public School. Below is a letter from the school.
Our school had Mia, a representative from your foundation, visit our school yesterday. She did a presentation for our grades 4 and 5 students. I would just like to
tell you how thoroughly impressed I was with the presentation. Mia has a natural and
intuitive manner with children and she kept their interest for about an hour. The
information she presented was exciting for them and she patiently answered many
questions.
I was impressed with the level of connection to the science curriculum. Mia
spoke enthusiastically about such relevant issues as endangered species, relationship
between humans and nature, predators, prey, migration, geographical regions, life
cycles, and the characteristics of various animals.
We will certainly plan to support the Canadian Peregrine Foundation in the
future and look forward to another presentation for our students next year. It is
heartening that in these times of cutbacks that the TD Canada Trust-Friends of the
Environment group continues to sponsor such a worthwhile educational experience for
our young people.
Thank you once again!
Sincerely,
Kelly Horvath
Principal
